If your toilet is clogged:

If the pipe is clogged, you'll need to use a plunger to try to dislodge the clog. If you don't own a plunger, you can typically purchase one from any hardware or big box store.

Simply place the plunger in place over the toilet drain, press hard to create pressure, and pump the plunger up and down to force the clog through the pipe. Do not flush your toilet unless it drains after plunging.

I can't flush the toilet:

If your toilet doesn't have a clog but the flush handle isn't working, lift the lid on the back of the tank and check that the flush mechanism is attached to the flapper.

If your outlets fail:

If you have GFCI outlets in your rental home, you can reset them by pressing the test button; the reset button should pop out. Press this in to reset power for the outlet. If the button doesn't pop out, there is likely an issue with the outlet itself.

If you lose power in your home:

If you have no electrical power, please contact your utility provider first to determine whether there are localized outages or problems with your account. If further action is needed on our part, let us know.

If you don't have hot water in your property, there is likely an issue with your hot water heater. Check the settings on the tank to ensure everything is accurate. If your hot water heater is gas powered, check that the pilot light is still lit.

If your climate control system isn't working properly, use the central thermostat in your home to troubleshoot the issue. Make sure your system is on and all settings are accurate; you can turn the HVAC off and back on to attempt to reset the defaults.
